"Physical-Astronomical Conference" 2026
Date: 20-22/03/2026
Location: Karpacz, Poland
Type: Student Conference
At the upcoming student conference, I will give a talk entitled “Tensor: The Physicist’s Frenemy.”
The presentation will have a didactic yet light-hearted tone and is motivated by repeated requests from students. In many physics programmes, tensors tend to appear suddenly — often without clear motivation or intuitive explanation — and quickly gain a reputation as something mysterious, intimidating, yet somehow everywhere.
In this talk, I will challenge that image. The aim is to demystify tensors, explain where they come from, and show that they are not an abstract menace but a natural and powerful language for describing physical phenomena.
